BDC Capital Welcomes New Member Banks

Recent additions to our member bank network expand the funding base for RI Capital and BDC Capital programs across New England.

BDC Capital Welcomes New Member Banks to Its Growing New England Network

At BDC Capital, our mission to fuel economic growth across New England relies entirely on collaboration. As a private, non-bank alternative lender, we don't compete with traditional financial institutions. Instead, we partner with them to build creative, flexible funding structures that bridge the gap for expanding regional companies.

Today, we are proud to formally welcome our newest Member Banks to the BDC Capital family.

By joining our extensive network of nearly 40 premier regional and community financial institutions, these new member banks are directly expanding their capacity to support local commercial growth, mitigate credit risk, and keep strong relationships right in their own neighborhoods.

What Does it Mean to Be a BDC Capital Member Bank?

BDC Capital acts as an extension of a bank’s commercial lending department. When a bank encounters regulatory caps, strict collateral parameters, or complex capital transitions (like an M&A deal or corporate turnaround), they don't have to turn the client away. They bring in BDC Capital.

Our member banks are the backbone and primary funding source of our diverse capital programs. It is a true symbiotic ecosystem:

  • Expanding Lending Capacity: Member banks can say "yes" to more complex or asset-light business requests by leaning on BDC Capital to fund subordinate debt or asset-based tranches.
  • Preserving Client Relationships: When a traditional bank co-funds a deal with BDC Capital, they retain the client’s core depository business, treasury management, and primary relationship status.
  • Investing in the Region: Membership allows financial institutions to pool resources collectively, creating a massive economic engine dedicated specifically to New England’s small and mid-market businesses.

“BDC works in partnership with banks and investors to deliver customized financing solutions beyond the scope of conventional financing. Bankers refer many of their customers to us to help extend their institution's lending capacity. Our new member institutions are fantastic additions to our collective mission.”
